For the most part this is true. But there are definitely places out there that are reputable and also cheap. I suppose the moral of the story is to look around.

You can get unlocked i5s for like $230 and their performance in unmatched. I'm not sure I'd call that overpriced to be honest. AMD processors definitely have their uses though, specifically their 6+ core cpus.
