I like it.. maybe the black on white is a little too much contrast.. could you try a dark grey maybe? also pick a single or maybe two colours and use them throughout to give the site a bit of a theme.. diamond blue or something.. eg make forum names in this colour, or use as a divider between forums. I use currently on-trend flat style red and blue and it works really well.

the second iOS logo doesn't jump out as being iOS to me, just something apple related.. and I agree with the others on the 'first' typography. 1. it's borderline unreadable; and 2) uniqueness for the sake of adding uniqueness is pointless... the way to make a blog/webpage standout is unique content. I think I've worked out what I don't like about the second logo.. the spacing between the i and Apple logo and S are too large - compare it with the iOS logo in the first design..
