This is a custom .htaccess to use on the IPS Community Suite Forums. It helps to improve your forums Google Page Speed and YSlow scores. The top segment is the same .htaccess that is generated by the IPS Forum software. This segment is Invision Power Services code and I do not claim it as my own. All rights and credit for this segment of the .htaccess are Invision Power Services. The bottom segment is based upon research of several websites and the references listed below. Please be careful when using this file because the contents may be incompatible with your server setup. Preventative measures have been taken to ensure that it should be safe to use in any Apache based environment. Just an easy edit for those who are looking to display the chat textbox at the bottom of Chatbot while having the most recent messages appear at the top of the chatbox. While there isn't an option to enable chatbox this way, this is just a minor edit that requires editing the HTML of the template bit for Chatbox and these steps will point you in the right direction: find the template or skin you want to edit (ensure you have the Chatbox installed first, or you won't be able to edit the plugin), click on the option to edit the HTML and CSS find the bimchatbox template bit (it should be located at the very top of the window on the left side click on front, chat and then edit the 'main' template bit what you want to look for is the following code: if settings.chatbox_conf_ordertop != 1 rename ordertop to orderbottom there are three instances of this in the same template bit, just rename each of the three "ordertop" instances to "orderbottom" this will position the textbox near the bottom of the Chatbox widget/window save the changes you just made go into the Chatbox settings (Community > Chatbox > Settings under the "General" tab, enable the option "newer messages in top" That's all there is to it. When you look at your Chatbox, the textbox (where you enter your message) should appear at the bottom of the Chatbox window and the most recent messages should be displayed at the top of the window. Removing the "load more messages" indicator in Chatbox Now, if you would like to remove that annoying warning message "load more messages", while you're still in the "Main" template bit under "bimchatbox", look for the following code: <div id='loadMore' data-action='loadMore' class='ipsAreaBackground_light ipsPad_half ipsType_center ipsCursor_pointer'>{lang="cb_loadmore"}</div> You can either remove the code, or simply remark it out by adding <!-- at the start of the strong and --> at the end of the string. This will remove the "load more messages" indicator from your chatbox.1 point

It's that time again, folks. With the release of IPS Community Suite 4.4, WebFlake begins its countdown for sunsetting IPS 4.2 by archiving all 4.2 content and dropping support for it. We strongly encourage you to upgrade your community to 4.3 or later not only for increased security and better stability but to ensure you'll be able to continue receiving support for your installation here on WebFlake. On March 15th, 2019 all active IPS 4.2 support topics will be archived and the IPS 4.2 prefix will be removed from our IPS Support forum. We will, of course, continue providing support for IPS 4.3 for the foreseeable future. Will I still be able to download 4.2 files? Yes. We will only be moving the IPS 4.2 category beneath our Legacy Software category. Can I still get support for my 4.2 installation after March 15th? At the moment, no. We are considering opening a new peer-to-peer support sub-forum for legacy versions of IPS (similar to 3.4.x) but we don't have an ETA for that. What happens if I want to upgrade to 4.3 or later after March 15th? Any effort to upgrade to a newer version of IPS will still be supported here. You'll just need to use the prefix for 4.3 or 4.4, depending upon the version you're upgrading to. What if I don't want to upgrade to IPS 4.3 or later? That's unfortunate but given the tremendous number of changes with the newer versions of IPS, we cannot possibly provide adequate support for legacy software. We're not going to assist you with fixing bugs that have been fixed in later versions or customize your website for you because you're clinging to an application or plugin that is no longer supported.1 point
