Overview The Versions application provides a simple interface for IPS developers to create and easily maintain Update Check URL's for their Applications, Plugins and even Themes. There are three primary ways you can utilize this application: 1) Manually creating versions As one would expect, this application will allow you to create version entries by simply manually inputting data about your application, plugin or theme. Just provide the name of the application, its directory name (this does not need to be a valid directory, it is only used for the URL identifier), the textual version representation (eg 1.0.0) and lastly the version ID number (eg 100000) and hit create. Once your entry has been created, you'll be able to easily bump the version whenever an update is made by clicking the "^" icon beside the version entry. To get the Update Check URL, click the button with the external link icon. Copy and paste this URL into your application settings page in the Update Check URL entry box and you're done. 2) Importing the application .tar archive or plugin/theme .xml file A quicker alternative to manually inputting data is to simply import your settings automatically. Just click the import button and upload your applications .tar archive (or plugin/themes .xml file) and everything will be automatically inputted for you. Whenever you update your application in the future, you just import it again. Your previous entry will automatically be updated to reflect your most recent changes. 3) Tracking installed applications, plugins or themes If you have your applications, plugins or themes installed on your IPS community website, you can track these existing installations automatically without ever having to manually input or import any data. As long as you keep these installations updated, the versions of these installations will be pulled directly on request without requiring any additional effort on your end. Just track and forget!

  3. So late 2014 i have stopped using IPB, now i use discourse. Pros: - FREE & OPEN SOURCE | Thanks for reminding me Phun :P - So no need to null it - Looks beautiful than traditional forums - Functions magically (no need to reload browser all real time) - Better performance/faster than traditional forum - Really responsive from get to go Also more -> http://www.discourse.org/about/ Cons: - You cannot delete a post permanently - Discourse don't have full functionality of a forum software yet - You have to know about a little about how ruby in rails works + postgresql (almost like mysql but better) - Last of all, Hardware compatibility..... I could install IPB in any VPS/Dedicated servers (no openvz/kvm restriction/ no ram restriction) but Discourse needs at least (1 gb ram with swap- no matters to me) but KVM support with higher kernel version... The thing is almost all of the servers i own is openvz and KVM is rare almost but well nowadays with DO you can get one for cheap but this is where i got stuck and frustrated.. So i would like you guys to compare Discourse with IPB, Discourse official website - http://www.discourse.org/ Their sandbox - http://try.discourse.org/

  4. Previously, users were required to post at least once every six months to ensure their accounts remained in good standing (e.g. "active"). In an effort to encourage activity with some tough love, the following mechanics are now being used: Inactivity Policy only applies to Newbies, Members, and Advanced Members Accounts that were created 30 or more days ago and have not posted in 30 or more days will be marked inactive. Content count is not considered. Whether you have 0 posts or 49, you're subject to this rule. To further clarify: if you create an account and don't post at all within 30 days, you'll be marked inactive. Even if you're logging in daily and downloading files. To remove yourself from the Inactive Members group, you only need to post once. Please do not spam with "thanks", "welcome", or other useless nonsense. Your account will just be flagged as a spammer. We're evaluating our options for improving this feature. Inactive Members have several restrictions placed on their accounts: Cannot view or download files. 300 second flood control (as opposed to 30 for Members). Cannot create profile status updates. A maximum of 1 PM can be sent per day, with a stored quota of 1 and a maximum of 10 stored notifications. New Threads: restricted to Off-topic Lounge, Member Introductions, and the Tutorials/Support areas for IPS, XenForo, and WordPress. Replies: restricted to Off-topic Lounge, Member Introductions, and the Support areas for IPS, XenForo, and WordPress. We understand that life sometimes gets in the way of hobbies, so please do not presume that if you are demoted to Inactive Member that this is some sort of blemish on your record. You can continue posting in most forums, including our support forums. The current setup is just a first pass and is subject to change; it currently does not delete any account from this website (as opposed to the old MIM system on 3.4).

This plugin adds a bar at the top of an IPS4 Suite which informs the user that the site uses cookies and offers more information in the way of a pop up. This plugin creates and stores a cookie in order to dismiss it. This is unavoidable. The settings are under your AdminCP > Plugins > Cookie Popup, click the edit button. (It's just the language of the message) Please do not ask IPS for a list of cookies IP.Board uses, as it would be impossible to maintain an up-to-date list of all cookies IP.Board and ALL modifications use.
